The National Reinsurance Company (Sudan) Limited was established in 1973 with the initiative and technical support of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The company effectively started operation in 1974.

The company was incorporated under the Companies’ Act of 1925, listed in Khartoum Stock Exchange and regulated by the Insurance Supervisory Authority. Rigorous regulatory requirements are adhered to on all aspect and particularly on risk management and solvency.
